Novy is Iowa's first venture studio, founded in 2023 with the mission to turn great ideas into valuable companies. The studio is a Midwest-based organization that provides capital, guidance, and executive talent to build innovative healthcare software startups across the United States. Novy specializes exclusively in the healthcare industry, focusing on building B2B SaaS solutions that solve critical operational challenges in healthcare. The studio follows a rigorous six-stage process (Ideation, Validation, Creation, Growth, Spinout, Exit) designed to repeatedly build scalable healthcare software companies. Each portfolio company receives up to $1 million in direct capital investment, two full-time executive leaders, in-house product development support, and a full suite of back office services including finance and human resources, for a total investment of over $2 million per company. Novy is extraordinarily selective, expecting to co-found only one or two companies per year. The name 'Novy' means 'new' in Czech. The studio was established by three experienced Iowa startup leaders who have worked with hundreds of startups over more than a decade, bringing together expertise in healthcare software, product development, growth, and venture capital. Novy partners with founders from ideation through Series A, maintaining deep involvement in day-to-day operations to ensure the highest chances of success. The venture studio model increases startup success rates from 10% to an impressive 60% through systematic ideation and validation procedures combined with significant capital and experienced talent.
