Beanstalk AgTech is an agriculture innovation agency operating a world-first Drought Venture Studio program. The organization exists to unleash the potential of agriculture to be a leading force for good, supporting entrepreneurial researchers, agtech founders, and industry disruptors who want to transform validated prototypes into impactful ventures focused on drought resilience. Unlike traditional VC funds, accelerators, and incubators, the Drought Venture Studio looks for raw ideas with potential and provides hands-on support at a much earlier stage. The studio addresses three main challenges in commercializing agtech: customer access, pain point identification and idea validation, and collaborative industry partnerships. The studio operates on a problem-first approach, constantly trying to understand challenges and pain points in the real world before finding technology to fill those gaps, rather than starting with technology looking for applications. Beanstalk leverages pre-existing relationships with agribusiness and partner organizations to help identify both universal and sector-specific issues in Australian agriculture.
