P&G Ventures is an internal startup studio within Procter & Gamble that creates new brands in new spaces to solve unmet consumer needs with iconic products. Founded in 2015, P&G Ventures operates outside P&G's traditional categories to discover and develop the next billion-dollar brands. The studio combines P&G's 180+ year legacy of consumer packaged goods mastery with the passion and agility of entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators. P&G Ventures focuses on categories where P&G doesn't currently compete, including pest control, lawn and garden, and pet parenting. The studio takes a unique approach by developing both internal and external ideas, creating win-win partnerships with entrepreneurs, inventors, and startups. Rather than simply providing capital, P&G Ventures functions as a hands-on incubator that leverages P&G's resources, expertise, regulatory knowledge, distribution capabilities, R&D capabilities, and brand-building prowess to help startups scale. The studio uses a direct-to-consumer strategy for brand launches, allowing for rapid testing and iteration before expanding to retail channels. P&G Ventures partners with M13 venture capital firm through the Launchpad program to accelerate brand growth and secure external validation through fundraising. The ultimate goal is to build brands that can eventually be folded back into one of P&G's six sector business units.
