Nana Bianca (meaning 'White Dwarf' in Italian - a small star with very high density and gravity) is a startup studio and accelerator founded in Florence, Italy in 2012 by Paolo Barberis, Alessandro Sordi, and Jacopo Marello, the former co-founders of Dada. The name is an astronomical metaphor representing a gravitational center where startups, companies, and freelancers orbit around digital innovation. Over their 20 years with Dada, the founders launched, financed, and supported 42 Italian and foreign companies before creating Nana Bianca as Italy's first startup studio. Operating from Nana Space (Innovation Center at Fondazione CR Firenze since 2020), it serves as both a startup factory building tech startups from scratch and an accelerator running specialized vertical programs. With 105+ investments, 30+ exits, and 65+ active portfolio companies, Nana Bianca focuses on SaaS businesses and high-technology ventures. The organization combines coworking spaces, acceleration programs (including Hubble, Cybershield, PRISMA, Baker Hughes Energy Ideas), workshops, events, and a digital-addicted community. Their mission is promoting digital technology in all forms as a big bang of entrepreneurial ideas and launch pad for internal and external startups.
