La Fabrique by CA is a corporate startup studio, investment fund, and innovation accelerator founded in 2018 by Crédit Agricole Group. Led by Laurent Darmon, the studio operates within the Innovation and New Activities (INA) division of Crédit Agricole SA. La Fabrique creates, develops, acquires, and takes equity stakes in fintech startups aligned with the strategic objectives of Crédit Agricole Group. The studio combines technology, finance, and entrepreneurship to invent the universal bank of tomorrow. Using a proven 7-step methodology developed over 6 years, La Fabrique industrializes startup creation through targeted pre-seed investments, shorter build phases, and shared resources. Created startups are 100% owned subsidiaries of Crédit Agricole with autonomous P&L statements, led by CEOs who benefit from the ecosystem and banking group's resources. The model is hybrid between salaried employment and entrepreneurship, with CEOs receiving equitable compensation and performance bonuses. Since 2018, La Fabrique has created 8 startups (75% still active), made 2 acquisitions, and taken 2 equity stakes.
